This Award is in association with the Irish Prison Service and drama teacher Anna Nugent. The winner and nominations of this award were chosen by the Women of Dóchas Prison Centre, who viewed a selection of short films from the festival. The shortlisted films relate to freedom within the varied "prisons" we all live in, - our own routines, dependence on others, obsession to money. For their award criteria, the films had to be relatable, situational, physical, humorous, sarcastic and creative. A key criteria was how the movie made them feel emotionally – deep down. How the film speaks to the soul, because they all believe and agree that humour is therapeutic.
